PAIA Manual
Last updated: 7 July 2026
1. About This Body
McSbuSing (Pty) Ltd operates the Informativ platform — a marketplace connecting people who host and attend events with venues, artists, and equipment providers. As a private body under PAIA, and as the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), we publish this manual to help you understand and exercise your right of access to information we hold.
2. Information Officer
Requests for access to records, and any PAIA-related queries, should be directed to our Information Officer:
- Body: McSbuSing (Pty) Ltd
- Email: privacy@informativ.co.za
- Postal/physical address and Deputy Information Officer: available on request from the email above.
3. Records Available Without a PAIA Request
Some information is already publicly available on the platform and does not require a formal request:
- our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and this PAIA Manual;
- published listings and public profiles — events, venues, artists, and equipment, together with their public ratings and reviews;
- platform commission rates and published pricing.
4. Categories of Records We Hold
Beyond what is publicly available, we hold records in the following categories, most of which are described in more detail in our Privacy Policy:
- Account and identity records — names, usernames, contact details, dates of birth, and identity documents provided for verification.
- Business and lead records — company details for providers, and details of prospective providers captured as leads.
- Financial records — banking details, platform account balances, commission calculations, payout records and proof of payment, and transaction history.
- Transaction and listing records — events, tickets, venue and artist bookings, equipment rentals, damage and late-return policies, and related communications.
- Verification records — documents submitted to prove matters such as venue ownership.
- Correspondence — support and sales communications, including via email and WhatsApp, and records of scheduled meetings.
- Technical and security records — login and session records kept to operate and secure the platform.
- Corporate and compliance records — records we are required to keep under tax, companies, and financial services legislation.
5. How to Request Access to a Record
To request access to a record, submit a request to the Information Officer using the prescribed PAIA request form. Your request should include:
- your name, contact details, and (if requesting on someone else's behalf) proof of authority to act for that person;
- sufficient detail to identify the record requested;
- the form in which you would like access (for example a copy or an inspection); and
- proof of identity.
We will respond within the timeframe prescribed by PAIA. If a request is granted, any prescribed request and access fees must be paid before the record is provided. If a request is refused, we will give reasons and inform you of your right to complain to the Information Regulator or approach a court.
6. Grounds for Refusal
We may refuse a request where PAIA permits or requires it — for example to protect the personal information of a third party, legally privileged material, trade secrets or confidential commercial information belonging to us or another provider, or information whose disclosure could endanger someone's safety or prejudice a legitimate commercial interest. Each request is assessed on its own facts against the grounds set out in PAIA.
7. Requests for Correction of Personal Information
If your request relates to your own personal information rather than access to a record, you can usually exercise your rights more directly under POPIA — see section 7 ("Your Rights") of our Privacy Policy. Many of your own account details can also be corrected directly from your profile.
8. The Information Regulator
If you are unhappy with our response to a PAIA request, or with how we have handled your personal information, you may approach the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za.
9. Changes to This Manual
We may update this manual from time to time, including when the records we hold or our contact details change. The "Last updated" date above will change when we do.
